Week 30 Monday May 19th - 24th 2014
Only one hour this week in which continued working on texts exam-style. What happened on Friday?? I didn't see a single pupil!
Week 29 Monday May 12th - 17th 2014
We started going over the subject I'd given you to study during me absence due to the European exams last week. During the first two hours of the week I only had 4 pupils in each lesson. Then on Friday 12 of you.
So having spoken in general about your final exam and having given my own appreciations for English, we started on a new subject.
On Monday you have a test so no class. I will see you on Tuesday.

Week 27 Monday April 28th - Saturday May 3rd 2014
Only one hour this week together and only 2 of you were capable of coming !
We went over the mock exam and talked about the orals. Your representative has some work for you all to do for Monday, May 12th. Make the most of the 3 hours allocated to English in the week and work.
I will not be in school from Monday May 5th - 9th since I am evaluating for the Euro Section.

Two hours this week in which I saw only a few of you. Those present benefited from the advice and help given as well as doing a CO, which incidently was marked!

Only one lesson this week in which we made a summary of the last text we had studied in class. We then made a list of all of the documents linked to Space and Exchange.

Week 22 Monday March 10th - 15th , 2014
This week we worked on the last notion, Space and Exchange through visuals, a listening document and a text.
I also gave you a,CE/EE on the same subject to be handed in on March 29th since I will not see you in class until then.
For those who are travelling to London on the BTS trip, have a good time and make the most of your timer learning something.

Week 21 Monday March 3rd - 8th 2014
Welcome back! Only one hour this week but only about 50% of the class turned up!!
We started our 4th notion which we will pick up next Monday. There are only about 8 teaching hours left before your CO/PO final exams so I'd advise you to be as regular as possible!!!
I really feel ashamed however at the number of pupils absent for theit mock oral exams!!

Week 20 Monday February 10th - 15th 2014
This week in the two lessons we tried to work on the three POs you'll have to prepare for your mock exams the first week back.
Some of you played the game, others did not. Be ready the nonetheless.
We also talked about the film, Minority Report , which we'd viewed the previous Friday.
You have to hand in an essay about this on Tuesday March 4th.

Week 19 Monday February 3rd - 8th 2014
Only two hours this week in which you finished your evaluation work then started working on your PO for this third notion.
You also went to the cinema to see Minority Report on Friday. We will talk about this next week.

Week 18 Monday January 27th - February 1st 2014
We continued working on Gun Control this week through an article about the Newtown report as well as the pros and the cons of gun control. On Friday you started an evaluation on the subject which we will finish next week.

Week 17 Monday January 20th - 25th 2014
It was rather difficult this week trying to get through Bowling for Columbine and thecomments made by Mr LaPierre the president of th NRA concerning the UN, gun registration and background checks.
On Friday you did a listening about Guns in Colorado.

Week 16 Monday January 13th - 18th 2014
We started off quite well this week talking about Places and forms of Power, our third sequence. The subject is gun power, the NSA and their lobbying, the power of the word versus the harsh reality of the gun.
Monday and Tuesday went well despite the depleted numbers in class. We introduced the topic through studying a few cartoons and also by reading the Constitution of the USA, especially the 2nd amendment. We started working on a text , anticipating by looking at the title and accompanying poster.
On Friday you were not really up to it again!
Come back ready to attack next Monday, having read all the text on Bowling for Columbine.

Having taken in your homework I gave you back your mock exam, commmented and corrected it with you. I gave you out my Ten Commandments then we started to recap on what we had already done.
On Friday you had a CO on Designer Babies and then I gave you a CE/EE which you could do, if you wanted for 24th January. It's up to you!

This week you had an oral comprehenion on Facebook and other websites then on Tuesday we worked around The Visitor. You will have to write a letter or a dialogue about this. Put yourselves in their shoes and express yourselves!
On Friday we went over the ' how to do' in order to help you with your written expressions to come!

Week 12 Monday December 2nd - 7th 2013
Having viewed the trailer of ' My Sister's Keeper' we then worked on the article about surrogate mothers, in India especially. So to date we have seen new technologies used for both aesthetic and medical reasons.
On Friday we listened to a document about new technologies, in particular Facebook.
We will continue with this work next week.

This week continued working on the second notion by looking at magazine covers, reading two articles and listening to and viewing a trailer.
Preimplantation genetic diagnosis and genetic manipulation, we understand, have been used to create designer babies as well as having conceived babies to save the lives of other children.
After viewing the trailer of My Sister's Keeper, adapted from the novel written by Jodi Picoult, you are asking yourselves a lot of questions.
We will pick this up next week.

This week you had a test on the first chapter, then you worked on the oral exam and finally having given back your tests we began the second chapter, Idea of Progress.

This week we worked on the three documents concerning myths and hereos. We will complete these next week with your sentences of comparison and contrast. We will continue to prepare your orals next week.
