This week we recapped on your exposés. Oh my goodness, some of you had not really listened to their classmates or you are all suffering from senile demensia! What is it to be dear pupils?
We didn't see eachother the rest of the week because I was busy evaluating pupils of the European section.
I hope your French orals went well and that you have all recovered from the stress this caused.
We will try to resume on Monday May 7th though atleast 13 of you will be on a science field trip. Have a good fruitful time.

Week 25 Monday April 2nd-7th 2012
We only saw each other once this week due to other engagements I had for the European section. You continued working on your group subjects concerning 'racism'. You will have to share your findings with us all next week, on Thursday.
Come ready and prepared. Bring along your copies of the year group tEst so we can comment on it if we have time, thanks.

Week 24 Monday March 26th-31st 2012
This week we didn't see each other on Monday because of your TPE which I hope went well, by the way!
As for our work in English we continued on the subject of Racism which we had started studying through Gran Torino. We corrected a few exercises I'd asked you to do for homework then continued by organising some group work around various examples of the topic in the USA. We will continue our research next week then you will have to tell the rest of the class your findings orally.
Happy research!

Week 17 Monday January 16th-21st 2012
This week we continued working on GMO by finishing off the CBS news programme in which we heard an advocate for GMO and a more reserved scientist as to the real value of such a practice.
Having completed the video work we threw ourselves into two texts with differing opinions once again. We had to exchange information inorder to get an overall view.
You were asked to note a brief summary of what you'd understood about the others' text and note your own arguments for or against.
We'll continuer with this next week.

Week 15 Tuesday January 2rd-7th 2012
Having made our New Year's resolutions we corrected the video programme we'd viewed before the holidays, taken from The New York Times, namely Educating Santa. We then started on a new sequence on Genetics.
We viewed and described two pictures in which there were genetically transformed animals. What was the aim of the cartoonist?
Don't forget to write your intro to the subject for Monday.

Week 14 Monday Dec 12th-17th 2011
We only saw each other once this week. We had finished off the sequence on Pop Art last week so I found you an interesting video to view in the multimedia lab, Educating Santa, a New York Times report.
I hope you all enjoyed it and saw the real message behind the document.
Have a restful yet cheerful holiday,
All the best in this yuletide season.

Week 13 Monday Dec 5th-10th 2011
This week I saw you on Thursday and Friday when we had our Pop Art exhibition. Your work was really something. You had thought about it and taken the time to produce some really nice pieces of art!
You managed to defend yourselves when others bombarded you with their questions as to your motivations, message and so on. I REALLY FEEL PROUD OF YOU.
On the whole your written work was not so perfect so we know what we have to work on now!
Have a nice weekend.

Week 12 Monday Nov 28th- Dec 3rd 2011
This week we continued working on Pop Art but we added a new element, that of Pop music. You had to watch some video clips and trailers from the period and answer questions inorder to come to an understanding as to the link between Pop Art and Pop Music.
I took in your first tasks too. Don't forget I'll be looking forward to viewing your pop art productions and reading the introductions to your work next week, on Thursday normally.

Week 11 Monday Nov 21st-25th 2011
This week we continued working on POP ART by matching the four articles we had read with four paintings by Andy Warhol. There was a fifth painting which we started describing entitled White Car Crash. You have to write the article which inspired this painting or the biography of a Pop Artist for Thursday Dec 1st.
We will be working in the Multimedia lab again next week on the relationship between POP art and POP Music.
Your final task is to create yourself a Pop Art painting, collage inspired by one of the great artists or an event.
Enjoy!

Week 9 Monday Nov 7th-12th 2011
This week we continued working on Pop Art by listening to a video extract as to the origins and characterists, influences and inspiration for such an art form.
I also gave you your auto-evaluation form to complete between today and next Thursday. Don't forget that chat, chat chatting counts for -10.
You likewise have to read one of the four texts I gave out and be ready to question the others to get information about theirs. You'll be surprised what these events inspired!

Week 4 Monday Sept 26th-Oct 1st 2011
This week we continued the work around the news events by viewing the news items in chronological order and commenting. We then started looking through the various written documents to enlighten us as to the language used in such items.
We will continue with this next week.
Don't forget that on Friday you will have a written comprehension evaluation.
