This week you had your last test of the year on Tuesday. Friday's lesson was rather bizarre since a lot of the pupils were out on an outing with their maths teacher. We started looking at a text on the New Government in England.

Week 32 Monday May 25th - 29th, 2010
This week we worked on the English Monarchy, the Habeas Corpus and the Bill of Rights then on Friday you began on the American Revolution . We'll continue this next week after your test on Tuesday.

Even though I only worked with you once this week you'd been forging ahead with your history teacher. We summed up your findings nd advanced into the British Revolution under the dictor, Cromwell.

This week we started some work on the English Revolution, 1642-1688, by talking about the power of the Monarch . You were very curious and certain of you were extremely active in this debate. Well done!
You had then to find out some information about Cromwell. Complete this work for next week please.

This week we finished off the work on Coastal towns listening to your exposés then I gave 13 of you an email address which you have to write to this weekend . Don't forget the 3 CCs !!!

This week you started a new lesson in geography about the evolution of the coastlines of certain towns in English speaking countries namely LA, New York, Durban, Vancouver, Sydney.....
You will spend another few hours in the computer room working on Google Earth as well as doing other research in order to be ready to report your findings to the rest of the class.
Don't forget to use the guided questions to help you in your research.

This week we managed to work a bit on the Cambridge Exam then on Friday we checked over the work on The Anglican Church. You will be having a test on the subject next Friday, March 26th .
Don't forget that your CAMBRIDGE CERTIFICATION EXAM will take place on Thusday, March 25th from 14pm-16.30pm as far as the CE, EE, and CO are concerned. Your EO and interaction test will be on Friday, April 2nd.

This week we checked over your homework and conclusions about the Royal capacity then started on some research on Anglicanism. We spent a good session in the multimedia lab so you should be ready next Tuesday to give us your findings!

This week we studied a few paintings, one of Henry 8th by Hans Holbein, and the other of Charles 1st. We considered the symbols behind the painting and tried to make you understand their real meaning.

This week we viewed your sketches on San Fransisco. You seem to have misunderstood the term 'sketch' . In English a sketch is not necessarily funny!
The idea was to give as much geographical info as possible about the town whilst at the same time making it sound interesting or useful!
Having completed this topic we started on the next, Henry 8th. We began by trying to describe a painting of the young King. We will continue with this next week.

Week 18 Monday 18th - 23rd January 2010
This week, after our initial recap, we finished off the work around Otis Redding and the videocast. We then pooled all of our info and looked at a text about the special geological situation of the city, the Andreas Fault and the many earthquakes the city has endured.
Your final task is to prepare, in groups, a sketch in which you will reveal and use all the knowledge you have about this city. You have one week to get ready.

This week we started our work on an example of a coastal town namely San Fransisco. In order to do this you had firstly to look at two maps, a world map and a regional one and situate the town.
Having established the physical position of the town we then studied the population , their occupations, industry , education and so on . You exchanged information about certain facts you had concerning with others in the class by asking questions. At the beginning of the following session you had to summarise this information.
We then watched a videocast about San Fransisco which had some particular background music, that of Otis Redding and other Soul singers of the 60s. Through the videocast and the songs you became familiar with the activities and life of the city.
Be ready to give back this information next week.

Week 14 Monday December 7th - 12th 2009
On Tuesday we worked on the Cambridge exam because the Hisory teacher was on a training course. Only two of you can't or don't want to participate in this adventure.
On Friday we worked on the Magna Carta and the similarities and differences between the Prince John in Robin Hood and in History.
You will finish this off next week with your History teacher.
Unfortunately I will not be there because of other tasks I have to do for the National Education System.

Week 13 Monday Nov 30th- 5th Dec 2009
This week, the first session, you presented you answer to the question: ' Myth or reality concerning certain key characters in Robin Hood.'
Some of your work was quite good however you didn't always answer the question clearly despite some of your very interesting information.
Then on Friday we answered the question about the role of the King in the Middle Ages. Certain questions were raised as to the Nobles, Knights and peasants for example : ' Who was who and what was their relationship?'
We came to the agreement that although the King was at the top of the hierarchy he was not an absolute King since he ruled with the advice of the Barons .
We will continue next week.

This week has been so strange because of the strike on Tuesday then a lot of you were off on Friday for L'Aïd.
So we worked on the Cambridge Certification Listening and Speaking Exercises.

This week you started working on Robin Hood, A MYTH OR REALITY ? Firstly we tried to remember the story of Robin then you had to do some reseach about differ'ent characters in the story to find out how real or mythological they were.
