This week you did a written comprehension in class on Immigration. You have to do the written expression subject of your choice for March 9th.
After this we viewed the trailer and certain extracts from the film The Visitor in order to get a general idea of the condition of immigrants in the States today. We came to the conclusion that even though their condition was difficult and alarming people were still arriving in the States drawn to the American dream because of a lack of expression or simply economic support at home! We were however made aware that not all Americans are happy, or that money doesn't necessarily bring happiness. Walter's sadness and need of companionship told us this!
After your mock exams next week try to have a rest!

This week we worked on how to write a dialogue in the group session then we threw ourselves, body and soul, into the visual document about global warming. We saw that Tony Blair, when he was Prime Minister, was very preoccupied by this problem and that the changes have been going on for quite a few years. The ice caps have melted and the weather has changed because of global warming.
On Tuesday evening several of the class went to the Residence of the American Ambassador to France to listen to a talk given by Will Steger about the problem of global warming. The evening went very well and Will Steger confirmed what we had already heard in class. the cocktailms were rather good too!
On Friday we finished off the work on the listening document. Be ready to exchange information about this next week.
