This week we only saw each other in the group sessions when you were reciting your I have a dream poems. I was so impressed by some of your recitals and/or productions. Bravo!!!

Week 11 Monday November 23rd - 28th 2015
This week you had a mini test on the rights of the Afro-American population from slavery to today. We then organised your reseach work on various events relevant to this same population. You will be giving your group exposé on December 8th.
Next week we will be listening to your dreams or I have a Dream, recited by you in class. I'm looking forward to hearing you all.

Week 10 Monday November 16th - 21st 2015
This week we checked over all of the documents I'd handed out last week in connection with slavery and the Civil Rights movement.
You will have a general knowledge test next Tuesday at 12.50 on this subject so be ready.
In the group sessions we worked on MLK's speech I Have a Dream and for 1st/2nd Dec you are to either recite part of this speech or create your own in the same vein. I'm looking forward to listening to you.

Week 9 Monday November 9th - 14th 2015
This week we only met once due to an outing I had with the upper sixth and the Poppy day bank holiday.
In this lesson started working on our Wind of Change sequence. We introduced, described and interpreted a visual document then I handed you some other exercises to do for next week. Don't forget.

Week 8 Monday November 2nd - 8th 2015
Welcome back after the holidays. Hoping you all enjoyed your rest.
This week there was only one group session when we spoke about the film we'd viewed on our outing on Tuesday, which fell on your normal lesson time. The Help seems to have both touched and informed most of you about the goings on in the southern states of the USA in the 1950s and 1960s. It was indeed a good way to introduce our new sequence which we will pick up on next week.
You will have to write a 200 word composition putting yourself in the shoes of one of the characters in the movie, the Wednesday group already have this work where as the others have it to come.

This week was basically an evaluation week in which you had a written comprehension on Sir Peter Blake, a leading figure in the Pop Art world, then you had to write an article, in groups, which might have inspired one of Andy Warhol's paintings. Finally a lot of you presented your own Pop Art productions and talked about them.

Week 6 Monday October 5th - 10th 2015
For some of you the work was a bit arduous, even rather tiresome this week seeing as you had to perform a lot yourselves!
One or two of you were not even ready to do so. This can not be accepted. After all why should some be ready and not others?
In the sharing information activity, once again I could see the difference between who was really working and who was not.
Come on you guys, you should know that if we ask you to do something it is not for nothing, so react!
We will continue next week when I hope those laggers behind will have seen the light.

Week 5 Monday September 28th - October 3rd 2015
This week we continued working on Pop Art by viewing a video on the origins and history of this movement. You also had some time in the library to do research on an artist of you choice whom you will have to present to the class next week SO BE READY.

Week 4 Monday September 21st - 26th 2015
This week we finished working on classroom English then started our first sequence entitlled Pop Art, by viewing a few examples of different artists' work.
For next week you have to make your own definition of Pop Art.
Your written expression homework was not too bad on the whole. Unfortunatel 7/34 didn't hand anything in!
