Week 31 Monday May 26th - 31st 2014

This week we worked around a funny story in the group session then in one of the class sessions you had your final test of the year. It wasn't a great success, unfortunately!

We will not see each other next week since I will be in 'conseils' on you lesson times so have a nice holiday and make the most of your free time to catch up on some of your weaknesses, in English of course!

Week 30 Monday May 19th - 24th 2014

This week we worked on Billy Elliot, his audition and his success.

You will have to analayse two sections of the movie next Wednesday in the same way.  Think about it.

Week 29 Monday May 12th - 17th 2014

This week we continued working on 'Billy Elliot', his passion, his experience, the changes in his father's attitude and so on.
In the group session we tried to work around the structures and expressions to convey all of this.

Don't forget there will be no class next Wednesday morning since three of your classmates are accompanying me to the middle school next to ours, Politzer, to talk about the European section.
Wish them luck!

Three others will be spending time with me on Tuesday afternoon at Jean Vilar to do the same thing.

If any of you have contacts in Poincaré and JB Clement please pass them on to me so we can do the same thing.

Week 27 Monday April 28th - Saturday May 3rd 2014

This week we continued working on the generation gap and young people's wishes and desires through the film Billy Elliot. We have begun by setting the scene viewing two parts of the film and shall continue with the possible evolution, culturally, socially and individually speaking.

I gave you a CE to complete for May, Wednesday 14th to be handed in and marked. No delay will be allowed so please be ready.

As you know I am not in school next week due to the European oral exams so you have 3 hours in which to do your work. Stick to these hours and see what you can do.

Week 25 Monday March 31st - Saturday April 5th 2014

This week we saw eachother very little unfortunately since I was marking Cambridge papers on Friday. However we managed to finish off the work on Tim and his family problem as well as giving you some work to be getting on with next week. Be ready with your letter to Agony Aunt!

Week 24 Monday March 24th - 29th 2014

This week we continued working on different teenage experiences which we will continue next week by finishing the work on Tim and his problem.

Please be ready!

Week 22 Monday March 10th - 15th , 2014

This week we finished off working on crime and suppositions. You even had a formal test on the subject.

We also began listening to New York, New York by Frank Sinatra  and looking at how tyo write a letter inorder to be ready for our next sequence on Generation Gap and Wishes.

Looking forward to seeing thos eof you travelling to YORK on Sunday. Please be on time that is to say between 11.30- 11.45 next to JB car park, rue Politzer. See you then.

Week 20 Monday February 10th - 15th 2014

Having finished off the listening we worked on 'Who was at the wheel?' Then I gave you another mini text to do for homework. We checked over this on Friday and I gave you yet another investigation to work on.
Don't forget to be ready for all the different parts!

Week 19 Monday February 3rd - 8th 2014

Only one hour of group session and one of class this week. We continued working on suppositions by describing visuals and listening to a crime story. Some of you have a pretty good imagination!

We'll contine next week with the text I gave you to be looking at entitled "At the Wheel".

Week 18 Monday January 27th - February 1st 2014

Well done to you all and thank you for sharing your personal, cultural and family information with me in that way.

Don't forget that the Quiz I gave you to complete can also bring House points!!! The first five in could be favorable for the Houses.

On Friday and in the group sessions we continued working on crime and suppositions. We will pick this up next week.

Don't forget that I will not be in class with you on Friday afternoon since I am taking my Tle class to the cinema in  connection with their upper sixth programme.


Week 17 Monday January 20th - 25th 2014

This week we started a new sequence on Crime by firstly completing a Whodunit exercise on the vocabulary then by listening to a crime. 

We will pick this up next week.

Week 16 Monday January 13th - 18th 2014

This week we worked around the text A Funny Kind of Englishman, from Hanif Kureshi's Buddha of Suburbia. Having studied the text I gave you a few exercises to complete for next week's group sessions.

In this weeks sessions we finished off the review of 2013 and work on proportionality and figures.
You als have to prepare your Jacques Brelian exposé, BRITKID STYLE, each concerning his own origins, culture and so on. Please be ready for January 29th.

Week 15 Monday January 6th - 11th January 2014

Welcome back and Happy New Year!

In the group session we worked on The holidays, New Year's Resoolutions and Reviews. Finish these off for next week please. There will be no change as to the organisation of the groups, by common accord.

In class we recapped the information from Britkid by saying that we were all the same, the little differences didn't mean much and if we  respect each other we will be able to live together.

We then started working on A Funny Kind of Englishman, an extract from Hanif Kureshi's novel, The Buddha of Suburbia.

You have to read the text, prepare it and be ready to talk about it next week.

Week 13 Monday December 9th - 14th 2013

This week we continued working on the Multicultural Society in the UK by listening to an oral document entitled The School Project There were lots of facts and figures to be ingurgitated!!

You have to write out the paragraph, informing us of all this information for January 8th.
You also have to log into Brit kid, a website which tackles the problems of the multicultural society in Britain.

Week 12 Monday December 2nd - 7th 2013

Very few hours this week indeed! Because of class meetings we could only see each other one class hour and one group hour.

We did however get into some new work once we'd finished off talking about the last sequence.

Be ready next week to continue, don't forget your homework and keep sending your emails to our American epals even if they are not replying!

Week 11 Monday November 25th - 30th 2013

This week we went to The International Conference of Inventions for young people. You presented various things giving the reasons why, there usefulness, how they worked and so on.
Some of your work was very good. Some of you really played the game. Bravo!

We will see eachother next Friday due to class meetings. I will see the 2nde 1 on Friday in the group session instead of 2nde 2 then all the class afterwards.

Week 10 Monday November 18th - 23rd 2013

This week you had a listening evaluation on an Invention then we worked on how to talk about your invention in preparation for the International Conference next week. In the meantime you had a mini test on the irregular verbs.
In group session you continued, in groups, trying to explain certain inventions to the others and we discussed the next three/ four weeks of written work to your American Epals. Dopn't forget I will be looking for 1. Your home town, 2. Your school V American school system, 3. Paris and your experience.

Until now I haven't seen any emails!

Week 9 Tuesday November 12th - 16th 2013

This week we continued working around inventions through various texts. In group lessons we had a group exchange session on three different texts where as in class we all worked together on the same text.
 Don't forget you'll have a listening evaluation on the topic next week and you should be thinking of your own inventions for the international conference which will be taking place soon!

Week 8 Monday November 4th - 9th 2013

This week we continued working on Inventions by describung the Q Drum then you were given different inventions of the past to understand, analyse and compare. We will continue with these next week.

Week 7 Monday October 14th - 19th 2013

This week I gave you back your test and went over it to let you know what is expected of you now in the high school. I talked to you about the Cambridge Certificate AND GAVE SOME INDICATIONS AS TO HOW YOU CAN HELP YOURSELF TO PREPARE IT.

In the group sessions we worked on descibing visual documents.

We viewed a video on Friday concerning a particular invention, the Q DRUM, please view it again during the holidays and be ready to talk about it on Nov 6th.
