To be fair we must take a look at the Republican Convention even if it has been disrupted by Hurricane Gustav , which fortunately didn't turn out to be as deadly as Katrina did three years ago . After all the help the government gave this time , evacuating the citizens in good time and in a humane way . Perhaps they are hoping to gain a few extra votes or make people forget the mismanagement last time !

Another person who spoke in favour of the Republican candidate was the current President , George Bush . His wife , Laura attended the convention and made a speech however he was not able to because of his commitments elsewhere and the emergency evacuation measures concerning Hurricane Gustav . McCains beloved wife , Cindy said , " This is a good man , a worthy man . I know . I have loved him with all my heart for almost 30 years .... and I humbly recommend him to you tonight as our nominee for the next President of the United States ! "
