As you are already aware this period in the States , in particular in the South , was a turning point for the Afro American population . Rosa Parkers , Martin Luther King , Malcolm X all had their part to play in fighting for civil rights . I will deal with this subject in more detail at a later date . However , as far as our trailer is concerned , the problems you can witness were caused because of voting rights for the black population and the brutal murders of four young men , two white and two black , by the local Ku Klux Klan team !
Fortunately , on this occasion , the guilty culprits were found , put on trial and sentenced ! The FBI managed to do a decent job !
The other man's grass is always greener , or so the saying goes , but is it really true? I suppose you could say that white Americans never had it as bad as the Afro Americans , whatever their social class . However a lot did have to fight for their rights ! Take a look at this trailer of the interesting and amusing film Working Girl . An example of someone who made it through determination and courage , a self-made woman infact !
Then there was Philadelphia , a movie about a young lawyer, Andrew Beckett who , because he had AIDS , was discriminated against and fired from his job . He attacked this great law firm with the help of a black fellow lawyer and they ......... Watch this and see for yourself .
It would not be right to forget one of the major problems in modern society today and even more so in the U S of A , that is obesity . Once again there is a battle going on but this time it is against the bulge ! Convenience fast food is to blame for this and we should all watch out so as not to do ourselves harm by becoming couch potatoes or the like . I enjoy a kingfish or a cheeseburger just like most normal human beings but everyone must know when to say stop !

So as not to finish on a morbid , unhappy note I would like you to watch the following trailer Little Miss Sunshine . It is the story of a typical American family with its joys and problems . The message is one of hope , despite all adversity . So perhaps this is a good omen for the future , after all are not the elections coming up shortly in the States ?
