Week 13 Monday Dec 10th - 15th 2012

What a lovely surprise this week from some of you who were ready to work, participate and actually get down to something!

We shared some information from two texts about the deplorable conditions of life for illegal immigrants both trying to cross over the Mexican-American border and once they arrive on the Promised land. We came to the conclusion that life was not really a bed of roses, either in Mexico or in America.

We then listened to Alejandro's testimony, which you understood rather well actually, and concluded that there was both  an American  and a Mexican Dream. The hyphenated Americans sometimes wanted to go back home to retire and the undocumented were now coming out as we said.

I gave you some help with how to write an essay and a letter. We quickly went through these .

Don't forget that you will have a test on this unit next Friday, three documents to compare contrast and pull out the similarities and differences.  There will likewise be an oral comprehension.

You will be expected to write a letter,  after the test, as homework.
