This week, having finished off the work on the Anglo-Saxon food Industry, for which, by the way you have to write a composition for Dec 10th, we started onthe subject of Ireland and immigration in the 19th century by listening to the song by the Dubliners. You were given the words and had to read them and be ready to talk about the subject of the song.
Some of you had worked on the lyrics and had understood the song quite well.
Having gone through ther lyrics we moved on to a study of the population of Ireland between 1700 and 1900. We saw that there was firstly an increase upto 1845 when the population was at its peak then a decrease.
You have to continue this study for next time!
