Week 34 Monday May 25th-30th 2009

Here we are at the end of our second week on the subject of art in the 19th century Anglo-Saxon style . On Monday you saw a few examples of what Realism was like and although you appreciated the talent of the artist you were not really enthralled by the paintings themselves !

On Friday we went into the Impressionist movement . Don't forget to find a painting, from the same movement, that you particularly like . We also quickly looked at Symbolism and started on the Avant- Garde movement .

You were all quite alive and reacted , favourably or not , to the paintings . Well done !
You understood which were my favourites , I believe and don't forget to feel, breathe, smell, hear and see things ! Use all of your senses otherwise life would be so down to earth, don't you think ?

If you are interested in seeing all of this programme again plus extra information look at the post

19th Century Art Anglo-Saxon Style under the label English Through Art .

It's worth it , I can assure you !

Don't forget, we said we would see eachother on Monday, May 8th since next week due to bank holidays and 'conseils de classes ' we will not have class at all ! I asked you to look at the above blog and to choose a painting you liked . You should be ready to describe it , fit it in its movement and explain why !

There is nothing against you bringing along a cake or something for an early tea party !!!!
It will be our last lesson of the year . I shall also be checking up on who has received mails from their American epal or not .
