Week 20 Monday February 2nd - 7th 2009

' We will fight on the beaches , we will fight ......... ' Yes this week we started work around WW2 with the famous speech of Sir Winston Churchill . You had to listen to it first and give your general impressions then we analysed the written document in more detail .

Yes , I totally agree with you that to a young person out of context this speech doesn't sound very convincing , we could even admit to it sounding boring and at times funny ! Yes , own up to it , you laughed at times .
However once we started putting it into context with the specificities of Great Britain too at this time things started to look a bit different !

Don't forget our trip to London this year is based around WW2 as seen through British eyes .

We will communicate work for you all to do around this subject just after the winter holidays and ofcourse before we travel on March 15th .

Next week we will not see eachother in class since at the beginning of the week we are both in mock exams with the Upper Sixth year and on Friday you are all coming to Shakespod !
