Week 17 January 12th - 17th 2009

This week , after our initial recap on Resolutions , we started a new sequence around immigration , especially to America .
Firstly you completed a mini quiz about American History , not too badly indeed !
Then I gave you a document on which you had to describe and comment on four different cartoons , all , once again in connection with the theme . Each of you was allocated one of the cartoons to prepare in more detail for the following lesson . During this period , after describing the drawings we compared and commented on the different periods of immigration and the different types and actors . I added a final document with two other cartoons to have a relatively vaste range from the first wave to the 1990s , legal to illegal , welcomed and hunted !!!!

You have to sum all of these ideas up and think about the discrepancy beween the idea of America as a land of welcome to what it has become .

In the group session we finished off our review of basics and tenses . You will be having a test very soon !
