Week 10 November 17th - 22nd 2008

This week we started with a recap of Strange Fruit , the song sung by Billie Holiday . Continuing in the same subject we looked at a photograph entitled The Fountain, in which we became aware , once again , of the racism which must have existed in the USA . This disgusted most of you and rightly so !
I then gave you a text , You are NOT American . You introduced this and had to continue reading for Thursday's lesson .

On Thursday we got into the main subject of the text which , as you had all understood was racism . You have to continue studying this for next Monday .

In our group session Group A worked with me around the methods and ways of writing a letter , an essay and a dialogue whilst the others worked with the assistant on the origins of jazz and blues music , and the message passed !
