I have never been so eager to read and wanted to finish a novel so quickly as with Philip Pullman's works .... His Dark Materials including The Golden Compass , The Amber Glass , The Subtle Knife as well as Once upon a Time in the North and Lyra's Oxford have all kept me enthralled for several hours .
